What is there to learn from the Open Gym? Developing new pedagogical notions of sports by an empirical engagement with a DIY sports infrastructure

In this paper, we take an interest in a recently emerged ‘DIY sports infrastructure’ Belgian city: the Open Gym. The purpose of our inquiry is to contribute literature regarding pedagogy by developing theoretical notions, based on empirical engagements, that render how these kinds infrastructures could make up pedagogical places. This builds notion as education about, through, and movement, deployed resources ‘new mobilities’ direct its focus towards bodily movements. methodology, informed idea ‘ethnographic navigation’, involved methods focused movements researchers other athletes, rendered into descriptive reflective accounts. These accounts, shown findings, present (continuing) attachments, contingencies, (decentralized) concentrations, resulting from more-or-less solid ties between human bodies objects, incidental interactions mingling through ties, specific ways coming together mutual attention.
